Dividends: The Men’s Skincare Startup Betting on Just 4 Products

Low lift, high returns: Dividends trims skincare back to the basics, but with a thoughtful minimalist assortment. We review the lineup and dig into the founder’s mission.

Skincare brands are constantly evolving, from indie labels with apothecary-inspired aesthetics to drugstore staples with tried-and-true actives. Not every newcomer will break through the noise, but that’s where we come in: to test, edit, apply, patiently wait, and point you toward what’s worth your time, your hard-earned cash, and maybe a coveted spot in your medicine cabinet or dopp kit.

A brand that recently caught our eye is the buzzy newcomer Dividends, which launched with just four products. A confident but considered move in today’s market, where many brands build out vast collections. Range can be great since it offers options and history, but it also makes it harder to maintain the same level of focus across every single product.

Dividends keeps its lineup intentionally curated, an approach that makes the brand feel more considered, and I gotta respect it. The kit contains four essential and effective skincare products: a face wash, moisturizer, sunscreen, and yes, an effing retinol (told you they did their homework, more on that in a sec). It’s basically an elevated dermatologist’s starter pack for longevity, and a stellar entry point for dudes who want to start a skincare routine without overthinking it, while still making sense for seasoned skincare guys looking to add an upgrade to their lineup. Let’s break each product down.

Dividends Skincare Products Overview

Dividends The Cleanser

The cleanser comes in a twist-top container, a small detail I love, since fumbling with a screw-off lid when your hands are wet can be annoying. (Nutrafol and Nécessaire shampoos use a similar design, so kudos there.) The formula itself is a medium-viscous, amber-hued liquid with a slightly medicinal, tea tree scent that also feels meditative. That tracks, given the Yucca-derived cleansers and tea tree oil to help manage grease, plus willow bark salicylic acid, a gentle exfoliant that smooths texture and keeps skin fresh. No sulfates, colorants, or synthetic fragrance. It’s a well-lathering formula that’s especially clutch for oily skin, yet balanced for daily use, and it left my face refreshed AF.

Dividends The Moisturizer

For my fellow skincare nerds, you know when a new moisturizer (not a heavy overnight cream) absorbs quickly and leaves your skin so smoothly matte that you catch yourself touching your face to enjoy it. This one does that. The texture leans more toward lotion than cream, so it’s light enough for day and night. It’s basically scentless, and legit mattifies, with the brand’s self-reporting that 90% of users noticed softer, less oily skin after one use, and 99% reported brighter, firmer skin after 60 days.

Ingredient-wise, it’s packed with vitamins C and E for antioxidant protection, ceramides to lock in moisture, and glycerides for barrier support, along with other plant-based goodness. My only nitpick is that I’d prefer a pump over a jar, but that’s a matter of personal preference. Does it reinvent the moisturizer wheel? No. But does it make a results-driven, science-backed case that will encourage guys to moisturize daily? Absolutely.

Dividends The Retinol

Up there with peptides and collagen, retinol is a final boss of buzzy skincare terms. Most guys have at least heard of it, the skincare-savvy swear by it, and for good reason: it’s the gold standard for wrinkle prevention, cell turnover, and line smoothing. That’s why Dividends launching with a straight-up retinol treatment shows it isn’t a niche extra anymore; it’s a baseline.

This one delivers for beginners, using a time-release system. Jake explains, “We formulated ours with microencapsulated Retinol, bakuchiol, and antioxidants so it delivers results without the usual redness or peeling.” The texture is lotion-y with a pump to help dispense the right amount. If you’re new, ease in (twice a week, at most, only at night), then gradually build up. Pair it with the moisturizer as your night cream, and you’ve gone from novice to skincare savvy.

Dividends The Sunscreen

While retinol works its rejuvenation mojo, it can also make the skin more sensitive and prone to UV damage, which is why applying SPF the morning after retinol becomes mandatory. Skip it and you risk irritation, redness, or even worsening the issues you’re trying to fix.

But on top of that: Hopefully you’ve already been wearing SPF every single day. No? Well, Dividends’ regimen makes sure of it now. That baseline protection every single day, of every single year, times all the years of your life… that’s why people are looking much younger now at 50 and 70 than decades past (and probably retinol, too).

The Dividends version leans more towards skincare than coconut-scented Banana Boat. It’s a hybrid mineral-chemical SPF 45 filter. No chalky cast, no residue, just a clean finish. It’s also packed with Vitamin E to soothe, niacinamide for barrier support, hyaluronic acid for hydration, plus it provides blue light defense against constant device exposure. (Hey, that constant use can really dull your dermis.)

The Dividends Skincare Routine

4 products; 3 for morning, 3 for night.

AM: 1- Cleanser, 2- Moisturizer, 3- SPF
PM: 1- Cleanser, 2- Retinol (2–3x/week to start), 3- Moisturizer

The Verdict on Dividends

Beyond the formulas, I really dig the tactile feel of the line. The matte finishes and solid-weight containers give it a premium, sleek vibe. But it’s the consistency and routine of the formulas that deliver results. As Jake puts it, “None of these products are overnight fixes, but when used regularly, they make a visible difference. We kept the routine simple on purpose: three steps in the morning, three at night. It’s skincare that fits into your life, takes two minutes, and doesn’t require any prior education. And when done right, it really does pay… ahem… Dividends.”

Cost wise: Dividends is a bit of an investment: You can buy the entire regimen as a kit currently for just under $200, while the tally for purchasing all 4 individually would be $220+. (At the time of publishing this.) You could (and should be able to) draw this out for 3 months of use (the moisturizer being the one that might go fastest otherwise, since it’s 2x daily); so if your annual skincare budget can be $800 total, then it’s feasible. But let’s be honest: You need to be committed to this if you’re going to spend close to $1K per year. So make it a habit, and you will see the dividends.

Dividends Skincare Founder Q&A: Jake Rosenblum

Below, Blue Print’s extended Q&A with Jake on how Dividends came to be, and why it deserves the glow-up.

Blue Print: What was the core gap or frustration in men’s grooming that made you want to launch Dividends, and how does the brand’s name tie into that mission?

Rosenblum: “Most men’s skincare falls into two extremes: overly masculine all-in-one clichés or hyper-clinical problem-solvers. What’s been missing is something premium, approachable, and built for everyday maintenance—products that support long-term skin health without turning skincare into a chore. Dividends was created to fill that gap. The name reflects our belief that good habits compound: skincare isn’t just about how you look today, it’s about how you’ll look years from now. Your skin is the body’s first defense against the environment, yet many men don’t start caring for it until the damage is done. Collagen declines by about 1% per year after the age of 30, making prevention far easier than reversal. Our goal is to shift that mindset and position skincare alongside other preventive habits men already value, such as working out, supplements, and sleep. It’s not about vanity, it’s about longevity.”

Jake Rosenblum // Dividends

You launched with just a few products, including SPF and retinol. Why did you decide to start with these?

“We started with the essentials: Cleanser, Moisturizer, SPF, and Retinol. These four products form the foundation of an effective routine. They protect, hydrate, and support renewal, and for most men, that’s enough to see real improvement in texture, tone, and long-term skin health. None of them is an overnight fix but used consistently they make a visible difference. We included retinol early because it is one of the most studied and effective ingredients. It supports collagen production, smooths rough texture, and reduces fine lines. The broader goal was to create products with high-quality formulations that aren’t intimidating or overbuilt, just smart and effective skincare that earns its place in your routine.”

How do you balance being approachable for men new to skincare while still carving out a unique space in a crowded market?

“We didn’t want to make skincare more complicated; we wanted to make it make sense for guys. This meant focusing on high-quality ingredients, straightforward use, and a tone that feels both credible and relatable. Most men don’t want to become ingredient experts. They want to know what works, how to use it, and why it matters. So, we kept things simple: clear product names, an intuitive routine, and a design system that feels clean and premium. What sets us apart is how we approach the routine. It’s not about trends or pushing a 10-step ritual. It’s about consistency, quality, and building habits that support how you show up today and in the long term.”

Some might say Dividends is an excellent “wife buys the kit so her husband stops using her products” brand. Was that dynamic something you considered, and who do you see as your primary customer?

“That dynamic is definitely part of the picture, and funny enough, it’s how I first got into skincare. I left my Dopp kit filled with CVS products at home during the early days of COVID and started using my wife’s Drunk Elephant products. That was the first time I realized how much better her stuff was and how little I understood about what I needed. Many of our early customers came in through that same path, but our core customer is the individual who is already invested in their overall wellness. He might be new to skincare, but he already values health, performance, and routine, so once he sees how easy it is to integrate, he sticks to it.”

Starting baseline is smart, but it naturally raises curiosity: what’s next? Do you plan to expand into haircare, body, or stick to skin longevity essentials for now?

“Right now, we’re focused on doing a few things well and building trust. The foundation must be strong before anything else. In the long term, we see Dividends as a broader wellness platform rooted in the same philosophy: taking care of yourself today in a way that supports tomorrow. If we expand, it will be into categories that align with that mission, such as supplements, recovery, or body care. We’re also exploring personalization so products and routines can adapt to individual needs over time. No rush. No gimmicks. Just smart, useful products that earn their place and fulfill our mission: Today. For Tomorrow.”
