How to Use Uppercut Deluxe Texture Cream
Here’s how to apply Uppercut Texture Cream:
- Try it first in completely clean, dry hair. Any moisture alters the cream’s ability to create texture without weight. Ideally, you will have at least rinsed out/washed away any oils and product buildup from days before, too.
- Try it in towel-dried hair too: While this product isn’t supposed to go into damp/towel-dried strands, its consistency allows for wet hair application. (Unlike, say, a wax, which would never agree with damp hair.) Like one subject in our trials, you can get a bit more curl definition or separation if you apply it to damp hair—and for some guys, the result may be more ideal.
- Start smaller than you think. Begin with a fingertip amount and warm it between your palms until it feels smooth and pliable.
- Emulsify the product in your palms first, then rake it through your hair. This will give you even distribution without any clumping.
- Shape while it’s workable. The cream stays malleable for several minutes, giving you time to create your desired texture. Use your fingers to enhance natural patterns and create separation.
- Layer if necessary. Fine hair responds better to multiple light applications than one heavy coating. Add more product gradually to specific sections that need extra hold or texture.
- Finish with gentle manipulation. Light scrunching or finger-combing activates the texture properties and creates that natural, effortless finish.
- Rework throughout the day as needed. Unlike products that set and become untouchable, Texture Cream remains reworkable for hours. Simply run your fingers through sections that have fallen flat or lost definition. The cream reactivates with gentle manipulation, letting you refresh your style without adding more product.
