For the latest episode of our men’s grooming podcast SPIFFY, we’re talking to the guys who embrace hair loss, and specifically the bald dome. Inspired by a terrific article from my Esquire editor Chris Hatler (The Lost Art of Going Bald), I spoke with Hatler as well as the founder and moderator of the r/bald Subreddit, Jack AKA geekbro27.
r/bald has its own wikipedia entry, by the way; yeah, with nearly half a million members as of publishing, and millions of visits per week, it’s quite the community—a place for guys (and gals) to seek support whether bald by age/hormones or by some other life factor (or even by sheer f*ck-it choice).
Below, you can listen to the episode on YouTube, or you can find the episode on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Please subscribe to the show for more men’s grooming coverage, and follow Blue Print on Instagram and TikTok.

And here’s a preview of r/bald moderator Jack speaking about the community’s cheekiness, and how they encourage one another to shave it all off or “hold”, all in good fun and camaraderie.
Thank you Philips Norelco for sponsoring the episode with the Head Shaver Pro 7000. You can check out @beautybob’s mini review of that head shaver here, which was done before the sponsorship happened. (Please note, there are 5000, 7000, and 9000 version models; that article articulates their core differences.)
