Laifen has quickly become one of the most talked-about grooming-tech brands. What started with high-powered hair dryers and sleek electric toothbrushes has now expanded into men’s electric shavers. The Laifen P3 Pro and Laifen T1 Pro are the brand’s first entries into the category.
You can watch my Laifen electric shaver review (of both the P3 and T1) in the video below, or read the review. I’ll break down the performance, design, runtime results, strengths, downsides, and which one is best for your grooming routine.
Spoiler: I’m giving both 4 out of 5 stars, for different reasons. They’re impressive, design-forward devices that fill two very different roles.
Laifen P3 Pro Review

The Laifen P3 Pro is a palm-sized foil shaver that competes directly with Panasonic’s Arc5 Palm. It uses dual linear motors at 24,000 cuts per minute, a three-element shaving head (two foils + one trimmer), and it’s oh-so sleek. It’s also much cheaper than the Panasonic Arc5 (nearly half the price, depending on sales and such). But is it as effective?

- Runtime: 115 minutes
- Full Charge: 30 minutes
- Quick Charge (1 min) Runtime: 5 minutes
Performance
Shaving with the P3 feels premium. The aluminum frame has real heft, and the motors don’t stutter on multi-day growth. The magnetic head design is also excellent. Cleaning is effortless.
However, compared to the Panasonic Arc5 Palm, the P3 Pro is a step behind in raw shaving efficiency. The Arc5’s five cutting elements give it an edge on speed and closeness. With the P3, I often needed a couple of extra passes on thicker scruff.
Where the P3 Pro shines:
- Daily or near-daily shavers; perfect for mowing through low-length stubble
- Neckline upkeep for beard-wearers
- Travelers who want a compact, beautiful device
- Users who value design as much as performance
Where it falls short:
- Week-long whisker growth
- Anyone who prioritizes speed and closeness above design
Sound + Feel
The P3 has a typical foil-shaver hum; not loud, not quiet. Despite its power, it stays cool against the skin and remains comfortable over long passes.
One oddity: hair clippings seem to vanish. You open the head after a full shave and… nothing. No mess. No idea where they go. But the end result is a clean device that’s ready for the next round.
Laifen P3 Pro Verdict: 4/5 Stars
A very strong contender in the “premium-looking travel shaver” category. Not quite Arc5-level performance, but at roughly half the price, it’s a smart buy for frequent groomers and minimalists.

The Laifen T1 Pro is the more intriguing device of the two debuts, and arguably the more original. It’s shaped like a cartridge razor, uses a single linear motor at 12,000 CPM, and doubles as a detail shaver and a compact beard + body trimmer.
This isn’t meant to replace a full-size electric shaver. Instead, it fills the niche between beard trimmer and precision shaver. Perfect detailer, perfect minimalist device with maximum returns.

Performance
This is where the T1 becomes special. It is:
- Excellent for neckline cleanup
- Perfect for beard edging
- Surprisingly strong as a mini beard trimmer
- Great for spot-shaving areas the P3 is too bulky for
It’s essentially a high-end alternative to the Philips Norelco OneBlade, but with a more refined design.
The trimming guards give a uniform cut, though I’m not in love with the fact that they’re individual pieces. They work well, but they’re easy to misplace. And also…
Durability Note
During travel, one of the trimming teeth snapped off of that attachment head. The shaver foil has a protective cap, but the trimmer does not—meaning it’s vulnerable inside a dopp kit unless a guard is attached. So, if the trimmer is loose in your dopp kit, make sure one of those trimmer guards is on it, to prevent it from chipping a tooth. Whether it’s a quality issue or just my own user error, this is an oversight that should be addressed in future iterations.
Sound + Feel
With both the trimmer and shaver head, the T1 is slightly louder than you’d expect, but still comfortable. It feels like a premium, lightweight hybrid tool.
Laifen T1 Pro Score Verdict: 4/5 Stars
A sleek, travel-friendly, multi-purpose groomer that excels for detail work and stubble-maintenance. Overpriced relative to other full multi-groomers (I’m also thinking about Philips Norelco Multigroom 9000 and Braun All-in-One Series 9 here), but the T1 is worth it if you prioritize design, simplicity, and portability.
Laifen P3 Pro vs. T1 Pro: Which Should You Buy?
Choose the Laifen P3 Pro if you:
- Shave daily or near-daily
- Want a compact foil shaver
- Need a travel-friendly full-face option
- Want heft and power
Choose the Laifen T1 Pro if you:
- Maintain stubble or a short beard
- Want clean necklines + edge detailing
- Also need a body trimmer
- Travel frequently (battery life is incredible)
Laifen Electric Shavers: Lasting Impressions
Laifen’s P3 Pro and T1 Pro are strong first entries into the electric shaver space. They’re beautifully designed, well-engineered, and pack impressive power into compact metal bodies. The P3 Pro is ideal for frequent shavers who want a cleaner, more tech-forward device than legacy brands. The T1 Pro is perfect for beard-wearers and detail-focused grooming.
Neither device is the absolute best in its class, but both deliver excellent performance for the price, and they feel like the kind of grooming tools you actually want to interact with every day.
