I’m a longtime fan of Happy Nuts, the tapioca starch-powered powder and cream that help prevent odor, friction, and moisture in the nether regions. They do so with all natural ingredients, too. I am so much a fan that I gave them one of the inaugural Blue Ribbon Awards (which are my all-time favorite grooming products, since I’ve tested well over 10K).
And as a longtime runner and former marathoner, I’m stoked about the new brand being launched by the Happy Nuts parent company (Happy Innovations). That brand is Happy Soles and, you guessed it: they’re coming for your feet.
Running is my favorite way to stay fit, clear my head, and pour through playlists or podcasts. However… it’s also the fastest way to wreck one’s feet. Aside from the same-day sweating, soreness, and stink, there is the long-term buildup from blisters and calluses. Not to mention, those short-term issues also accumulate and can cause bigger problems, like Athlete’s foot and cracked heels.
The Happy Soles Lineup
Happy Soles launched with six products, three of which come in two scents each. The assortment is synergistically designed to fight odor, sweat, soreness, and roughness. Here’s the quick rundown:

4-oz Foot + Shoe Powder (Eucalyptus Mint or Lemongrass)
Classic sprinkle-on powder to absorb sweat and reduce friction. Great for long runs, heavy sweat-ers, or hot days.

2.75-oz Foot + Shoe Powder Spray (Eucalyptus Mint or Lemongrass)
Same benefits as the powder, but in a cleaner, faster spray format. I like to pump it into each sock.

Shoe Deodorizer Spray (Eucalyptus Mint or Lemongrass)
Neutralizes odors inside sneakers, boots, and gym shoes. Works against the bacteria and fungi that actually cause odor.

Electric Sole Buffer (Callus Remover)
Rechargeable tool to quickly file down rough patches on heels and balls of feet. Best for weekly upkeep. Pictured above right.
Sole Buffer (Nano Glass File)
Manual file for precision touch-ups and travel. Compact, durable, and ergonomic despite the intimidating “glass” name. Pictured above left.

I’ll admit the word “glass” makes it sound daunting (or even fragile), but in practice it’s sturdy, ergonomic, and works beautifully as a manual skin buffer. It’s the kind of tool you appreciate more once you’ve tried it, and I liken it to sandpaper (glass is effectively sand, after all).

Calming Magnesium Spray (Lavender)
A soothing spray that helps you unwind and shift toward restful sleep. Light lavender scent makes it a perfect evening ritual. It deserves a shoutout as a sleeper hit—literally. It’s one of those products my female peers on the beauty side have been praising for years, and now I see why. Given its lavender oils, I like to spritz a bit on my wrists and neck late in the workday, since the scent instantly shifts me toward that relaxation.

Two Functional-Fresh Scents
Both scents are chosen for good reason. In addition to being fresh, those natural essential oils are quite functional, too.
- Eucalyptus mint: Crisp, cooling, and invigorating. Eucalyptus carries natural antibacterial and mild antifungal properties, which help suppress the microbes that turn sweat into odor.
- Lemongrass: Bright, citrusy, and energizing. Like eucalyptus, it also has antimicrobial properties, giving it a functional edge against bacteria and fungi while keeping shoes and feet fresh.
Personally, I’ll always side with eucalyptus mint, but both scents go beyond smelling good. They actively work against the source of odor.
Where to Start with Happy Soles
If you’re wondering which Happy Soles products to try first, I’d suggest starting with this trio, which should cover the core bases of sweat, odor, and roughness:
- Foot + Shoe Powder (or Powder Spray): This is the backbone. The powder absorbs sweat and reduces friction, which cuts down on blisters. The spray version does the same thing without the mess, and it’s the one I personally reach for before running.
- Shoe Deodorizer Spray: Essential if you own running shoes, gym shoes, or boots. (That’s… everyone, right?) It freshens everything instantly and fights the bacteria that cause odor. While I love the eucalyptus mint on my actual skin, I’m more partial to the lemongrass for my shoes themselves.
- Electric Sole Buffer: Running builds calluses fast, and this rechargeable tool makes upkeep easy. A weekly session keeps rough patches from getting painful. The Sole Buffer (Nano Glass File) is a great add-on if you want something compact and precise.
Outside of select corners of the internet, feet don’t get much love… especially in grooming. But for runners, for people who sweat a bunch, or whose feet barely get to experience fresh air at any point in the day… y’all should be frontloading the footcare products. It yields fewer blisters, less stink, no painful cracked heels, and feet that are way less gnarly.
It’s a simple way to make daily life more comfortable. And that’s exactly what Happy Soles does best, just as Happy Nuts did before them.
